In 1986, Mt. Carmel High School launched the Holiday Hoops Classic at the Mount, a 4-day tournament that has sustained the boys’ basketball program for 30+ years. This year's line-up for the 34th Annual Holiday Hoops Classic at the Mount has a nice blend of local teams, and teams from Southern California who have made our tournament a tradition.
Mt. Carmel High School Boys’ Basketball will also host the 7th Annual Hoops for Hope, a tribute to breast cancer warriors in our community. Mt. Carmel is known for a sense of community that exists beyond the basketball court, so it is no surprise that Varsity Coach Chris Vitous championed the expansion of our basketball tournament to include a tribute to those families who, by no choice of their own, have become warriors in the fight against breast cancer.
Join us on Thursday December 26, 2019 at 7:30 pm to pay tribute to breast cancer warriors. Our tribute includes messages of triumph from breast cancer warriors, a celebration of pink in the gym, passing of pink donation buckets to benefit this year’s breast cancer charity: Young Survival Coalition. Young Survival Coalition (YSC) is a premier organization dedicated to the critical issues unique to young women who are diagnosed with breast cancer. YSC offers resources, connections and outreach so women feel supported, empowered and hopeful. 100% of donations will be sent to Young Survival Coalition.
